As the title indicates these photographs are meant to recall my early childhood experiences with nature and to sharpen the "Eye" I had as a young lad growing up in the North.
In each photograph I have isolated certain features of the natural environment, often using a long lens, to create a greater sense of "intimacy" than you would experience with more expansive landscapes. For me this "intimate landscape" approach has a strong emotional appeal.

Enter the world of close-up photography that lies just beyond the familiar and so rich in detail and beauty: morning dew on a wild flower, frost on a stem of grass, sunlight on a spider web and graphic lines in a leaf. This is a journey of the soul and the deeper you go the more rewarding it becomes as nature reveals her hidden treasures.
